Day 12ish/13 Swab day!
I say 12ish because we didn't have our swabs yesterday.... So this morning we had breakfast (it surprisingly arrived an hour earlier than it has been! oh wait.... daylight savings!) and waited around for the nursing team. They arrived about an hour earlier than we thought they would (hah!) and we got through the second test without an involuntary tear :) They were great about the whole thing - very professional - and we were reminded again that these guys, and the guys who work in these hotels are tests every week. For anyone out there who has had a test.. imagine having one every week!
The front line staff in these facilities deserve a medal - or at the very least, a good whapping pay rise. That includes the catering staff - doing their utmost to cater to a whole hotel of guests who don't really want to be there, the cleaning staff, the military, the other hotel staff and the Aviation security guys - all doing a really important job that no-one really wants to have to do. All we have to do is stay out of trouble for 14 days, while being catered for and looked after by champions.
Anyway. The other exciting thing today was our afternoon trip to the yard. The wind had picked up, and they had taken off all the privacy cloth. It was amazing how much more open the whole thing felt, and with the wind gusting and blowing us around , the whole thing was a bit exhilarating! Amelia and Owen were being blown around, and we had to hold onto our hats and masks for fear that they would blow away. The nasty storm that was predicted didn't materialize (here\yet) and we blustered around in the sunshine. Later in the afternoon it did cloud over and there were a few spatters on the window, but it cleared up and is looking pretty good out there. I'm hoping the wind will disappear before our flight on Tuesday....
