16 Sept : Jetlag

Woke in the dark.... forced myself back to sleep (oh the hardship).  Woke again at about 6.  Lay there feeling all muzzy for a bit before I realised Matt wasn't there.   Turns out he was sitting out in the foyer area doing some work.  He'd woken at about 4 and decided to go do some work instead of thrash around and wake me up!  He climbed back into bed and we were soon joined by Amelia.  We chatted for a bit, then Matt decided a bath was in order!  Spa bath at 7am anyone?   After his coffee and soak he popped next door to check on the boys - Owen was still asleep!   We woke him when breakfast arrived at about 8 - a goodly long sleep.  They told us they had woken up for about an hour in the night, but had managed to get back to sleep again.  Legend.

We munched down our breakfast and decided to try the outdoor area again.  We got masked up and opened to door to find the Wellness team standing there to take our temperatures again.  That done we took the lift down and out into the sunshine.  There were a number of people already down there walking, so we slipped in behind a group and started our walk.  The outdoor space is a fenced off bit of the Square, so there is no grass or anything, but we can see the Cathedral, and the really quite fabulous Chalice in the square.  There are a couple of nice big trees just outside the fence, to give Amelia her 'nature' fix and a trolley bus comes rumbling by every now and then to entertain the troops.  They had the black netting back up to ensure our privacy, but you can see out so I'm sure they can see in!  The walking felt strangely like ice skating, everyone cruising around in a loop (will measure it one of these days) maintaining their distance from each other.  There was a woman doing yoga in the middle and a couple of people sitting reading around the edge.  Very weird, but nice to be outside!  We walked till everyone got sick of it then headed back up the stairs (sanitise, sanitise) and back to the rooms.

My fabulous cousin Jeremy visited the library and supermarket for us and delived a box of books, rashuns, carrots and other essentials that arrived at our room just after lunch.  The bloke who delivered them warned us that if any one of us tested positive they would destroy the books rather than return them to the library - a little extreme for my liking, but I guess all for the greater good!  The kids tucked into the books and Matt and I spent the afternoon writing lists of all the stuff we need to organise and do before moving back into Greytown.  This included a plan for leaving quarantine.  Our number one option is flying directly to Rotorua from here, and luckily that is what we are doing.  Our plan is leaving the hotel by 6.30am on the 29th to get a flight at 9 to Rotorua.  Hurray!  Visited the outdoor area again, only to find it closed, so it was back up the stairs and into the room for another workout.  Amelia and I did a yoga session and we all spent the rest of the afternoon chillaxing and waiting for dinner!  Managed to stay up a bit longer, but were still in bed pretty early..
